Students from Language Systems International – Downtown Los Angeles Campus enjoyed the Veterans Day holiday in a very special way: they got together to visit one of the most famous roller-skating spots in Los Angeles — Moonlight Rollerway, located in Glendale.

The place is so iconic that several artists have filmed music videos there, and even scenes from The Kardashians were shot there. It’s one of the most hyped locations in the city, especially for those who love the retro 80s vibe.

Moonlight Rollerway is known for its unique atmosphere: a DJ spinning upbeat music, vintage lighting, and themed nights that change each day of the week.

They also have arcade games, and food and drinks are sold on site. Some students already had experience and brought their own skates.

Others had the chance to try roller skating for the first time and rented equipment at the venue. For everyone, the experience was fun, challenging, and unforgettable.

Before the activity started, Teacher Carol made sure the group was prepared:

  • “Dress comfortably and feel free to bring your own knee pads, elbow pads, or a helmet.”

Activities like this show that studying at Language Systems International is much more than learning English inside the classroom. It’s about living real experiences in the United States, making friends from around the world, and exploring the best that California has to offer.
