An F-1 student visa allows full-time enrollment of 18 or more hours per week and authorizes an extended stay for the duration of studies. A B-1/B-2 tourist visa or ESTA allows short-term visits but restricts full-time study. If you wish to study full-time on a tourist visa, you may need to apply for a Change of Status to F-1 first.
In many cases, yes. If you hold a B-1/B-2, J-1, or another eligible non-immigrant visa, you may be able to apply for a Change of Status to F-1 without leaving the country. Language Systems International can issue the Form I-20 required to begin this process. Each case is different; individual legal guidance is recommended.

The ESL program is organized into 7 proficiency levels, from complete beginners to advanced students. Each student is placed in the most appropriate level based on an initial assessment.
Yes. Language Systems International is SEVP-certified, officially authorized by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program to enroll international students in F-1 status and to issue Form I-20.
